Kapow! Noodle Bar

East Boca Raton, New Age cuisine
Menu (changes frequently)

New restaurant getting off to a shakey start with questionable food quality. The concept is good and the presentation is exciting.

My dinner companion and I shared two small plates … Grilled Broccoli Rabe and Roasted Cauliflower Brussel Sprouts. The taste and blend of spices was very good. We also shared Kapow’s signature big plate … Grilled Skirt Steak. Cooked medium rare with slices laid over a bed of mashed potatoes, and topped with Japanese mushrooms and fried onion, with truffle oil to heighten the flavor. Unique in many ways. Interesting shaped plates complement uniquely designed and creative dishes.

However we learned that “Kapow” is the sound your body makes a few hours after eating at this restaurant. We both experienced an explosive reaction to the food when we learned that the food was either of bad quality or handled incorrectly. The morning after I tried to call the restaurant only to learn that neither the receipt nor their website includes a phone number. Googling the restaurant didn’t produce any contact information. Apparently the only way to contact the restaurant is to either go there or sign up for their newsletter. Only remaining method of contact was to report food reaction to Palm Beach County Health Department. Through licensing, the health department promised to contact Kapow’s management.

If the restaurant is able to correct their food quality issue, this restaurant has great potential.
